Evaluation of mental maturity and right-left orientation and correlations with gait and balance in children with Autism Spectrum disorder: preliminary study

Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have cognitive difficulties and delayed development, deficits in gross fine motor markers as well postural balance, leading to poorer quality of life. The objective was evaluate mental maturity right-left orientation children ASD compared typical development correlate the findings balance gait performance. A convenience sample composed 21 male female between six years nine 11 months age submitted psychological functional tests. suggest correlations maturity/right-left mobility/balance disorder. severity were correlated variables that demonstrated abnormalities, such speed.
